Gaon Chart Music Awards memberikan apreasiasi terhadap lagu, album, artis, stylist, koreografer, produser, komposer, dan profesional lainnya di industri musik.
Acara Gaon Chart Music Awards ke-10 kembali digelar pada Rabu (13/1/2021) malam waktu Korea Selatan.
Ajang penghargaan tahunan ke-10 ini digelar secara online tanpa ada pertunjukan apapun mengingat pandemi Covid-19 hingga saat ini masih terjadi.
Pemenang penghargaan ini ditentukan berdasarkan grafik Gaon year-end sales tahun sebelumnya.
Berbeda dari penghargaan musik lainnya di Korea Selatan, GCMA tidak memberikan penghargaan tertinggi (daesang) dan sistem penghargaan berdasarkan bulan rilis, yang tidak dimiliki oleh penghargaan lain.
Khusus tahun ini, GCMA digelar secara virtual dan ditayangkan di berbagai platform secara gratis.
Sehingga, para penggemar K-Pop yang berada di seluruh dunia dapat menyaksikan acara ini secara langsung.
Leeteuk Super Junior dan Lia ITZY mendapatkan kesempatan menjadi pembawa acara di Gaon Chart Music Awards ke-10.
